Concerns raised about 'officer conduct' at Cheshire East Council

DSCN1726

Concerns have been raised over the conduct of one or more senior officers at Cheshire East Council.

The Investigation and Disciplinary Committee will meet on Monday, 10th April, to discuss the issues raised.

The Council will not confirm which officer or officers they relate to, or disclose any details regarding the nature of them.

A Cheshire East Council Spokesperson said: "We can confirm that potential concerns have been raised about officer conduct.

"Initial enquiries have been undertaken and the matter is now to be considered by our Investigations and Disciplinary Committee who will make recommendations as to what, if any, action needs to be taken.

"We would stress that the fact we have arranged for an Investigations and Disciplinary Committee to be convened does not imply any wrong doing. It is a routine step to take in these circumstances.

"It is important that the committee are able to make an objective decision on the matters that are put to them and therefore we are not able to make any further comment at this stage."

CEC has been a walking disaster since day one; one fiasco after another.
Time for the residents to apply for a winding-up order?

Re-unification of Cheshire as a single entity surely is the way forward?

And today just now on the news I hear that the Leader of CEC was awarded a £34,000 pay rise (twice the amount some folk earn pa) for 2016. Council tax has gone up by an average of £85 a month in the last 14 years (with more huge hikes to come). This is disgusting why could she not have frozen her salary we know our council tax has risen to cover the lack of funds for social care but it is an insult to us all to hear about these pay rises. Who authorised this I wonder?

No smoke without fire !! When will these public servants; paid for by you and I, grow up and work for the people they are supposed to represent. All we seem to read about is enormous salaries, enormous pay offs and not much effort. About time we (The public) had a course of action to remove those who really are a waste of space !!

Corruption at every turn - we can manage perfectly well without County Hall and it's "Ship of Fools"

I said "she" and I must retract this as I heard on Silk FM and mistook it to mean Rachel Bayley. This rise was awarded to Mike Suarez who we now know is under investigation (on full pay)! This is a kick in the teeth for the residents of Cheshire East. We have an absent ("3 jobs" MP) in Tatton and now a hugely overpaid council Chief Exec suspended and under investigation . Who is polishing their "pitchforks"? ;))
