In the build up to one of the village's most popular community events, runners of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the Alderley Edge May Fair 5K Fun Run.

The run will take place on Friday May 19th, starting and finishing in the park. The cross country run tours the flat fields on the edge of the village, and will suit most abilities though runners are advised to be prepared for stiles and mixed surfaces.

It follows an interesting route through relatively flat farmland towards Welsh Row, then back towards the park. Marshals will help to direct runners and Bramhall Runners will provide published times for everyone.

The race is free to enter and all participants will receive a goody bag, bottle of water and a drink of choice from the bar. In return, the organising committee ask for a generous donation to East Cheshire Hospice

Places are filling up fast, so early registration is vital. There will be a limit on the number of participants to ensure a fun, safe event.

Runners are encouraged to bring their friends, family, colleagues and side-kicks to cheer the race and enjoy the entertainment on the park, including the May Fair fairground, bowling, football, table tennis, music, caterers and bar.

The pistol fires at 7pm on Friday May 19th, registration begins at 6pm and the warm-up takes place somewhere in-between.
