Hotel plans for new restaurant

DSCN2654

As part of an ongoing refurbishment programme, plans have been submitted to create a new restaurant and entrance at the Alderley Edge Hotel.

The proposal is to demolish the existing entrance porch and conservatory building and replace them with an updated design, both of which will be slightly larger.

Built in 1850, the property is now owned by J.W.Lees Brewery, who constructed the conservatory where the main restaurant is located, upon taking ownership of the hotel.

This was intended as a temporary measure, and whilst it has been renovated internally on several occasions the company says it is beginning to look past its best.

The conservatory will be replaced with a new structure with an increased footprint from the original, which will be constructed to appear as a timber framed conservatory. The porch will also be largely clad in painted timber.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for reference 17/1028M. The last date for submitting comments is 30th March and a decision is expected by 26th April.
