Generous donation will make a real difference

In the run up to Christmas Alderley Edge Community Primary School raised nearly £1000 for children who have been diagnosed as having a life threatening or life limiting condition.

Through the generous donations of parents, families and members of the local community who attended the school's nativity services along with other events the school were delighted to raise £972 for Francis House Children's Hospice.

Headteacher Mr Perry Headteacher said, "I am always amazed at the generosity of the Alderley Edge School family. The children are constantly trying their best to make a difference and this was definitely seen through their superb performances before Christmas. As a result, our children's parents, families and friends have also made a massive difference to the work of Francis House. I would like to personally thank everyone who gave so generously - together we made a difference!!"

Kate Puc, Francis House charity representative, came into school and joined the children in assembly this week to collect the donations and also thank the children. She explained how the money would be used to support children and their families who are experiencing such difficult times.

Kate said "I look forward to my visit every year to Alderley Edge Community Primary School and this year was no different as I was presented with very heavy collection buckets in assembly. As their school motto is 'Making a difference' the children and their generous families have really made a difference to our children and families at Francis House meaning that we can continue our special work and care provided here for them.

"The school's continued support every year is incredible and it is greatly appreciated. At some time in our lives we've all held up a kaleidoscope to our eyes. Imagine it full of diamonds ever changing, ever valuable and always sparkling, this is as we see the children in our care with their own unique twinkle or sparkle. They're very special........ very precious and that this fabulous donation will help to keep them that way."
