Library launches free events for 2017

Alderley Edge Library is kicking off the new year with a series of free events.

Pre-schoolers are invited to a special Bookstart Bear rhymetime on Tuesday, 10th January, at 10am to launch Bear's Reading Adventure and meet Mr Bookstart Bear.

This will be followed on Thursday, 12th January, with a new lego club from 4pm to 5pm and again on Saturday, 14th January, from 10am to 11.30am.

Librarian Janet Haley said "We are now holding a lego club on the second Thursday and Saturday of the month. This is suitable for children aged 5+ accompanied by their parent or carer.

"In addition we are offering free literacy and numeracy workshops in association wtih Explore Learning."

The first workshop is on Thursday 19th January from 4pm to 5pm. It is entitled Wild Weather and is suitable for children aged 7+.

Then on Thursday 26th January, Lifelinks will be holding an iTea and Chat session from 2pm to 4pm.

Janet explained "This is an informal session, where you can come along just to chat and enjoy refreshments or find out about Lifelinks' activities, and they will be bringing along some tablets and offering help with IT problems."
