Two organised displays will be held in the village to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.

On Sunday, November 6th, Alderley Edge Cricket Club will host their annual fireworks display. The gates will open at 4.30pm and the firework display takes place after 6pm.

John Berry, Manager of the cricket club, said This will be the 9th year the Cricket Club has hosted this major village event and it joins traditional Alderley community events along with the Christmas lights switch on, May Fair and parade as well as the Summer Fete.

The display is very much a family occasion with the spectacular fireworks preceded by a children funfair, BBQ and soup kitchen, cake stall, coffee and hot drink station, outside bar providing warming mulled wine and soft drinks as well as a fully stocked clubhouse bar for the adults."

This year, they are offering cheaper tickets if purchased in advance. Call 01625 584733 or pop into the cricket club to purchase advanced tickets priced £7.50 for adults, £5 for children £5 or £20 for a family of 4. On the gate entry will cost £8.50 for adults, £6 for children and £25 for a family of 4.

Alderley Edge Community Primary School is also preparing for their annual family friendly Bonfire and Firework Display which takes place on the school field.

This long established and popular village event will take place on Friday, 11th November, which is a little later than usual due to the late half term holiday dates.

In addition to the professional firework display and bonfire there will be hook a duck, fairground rides, and refreshments including a bar, hot drinks and food.

Tickets on the gate will cost £20 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children), £7 for adults and £4 for children. Gates open from 5pm.

Headteacher Mr Perry said "As usual, we are expecting a fantastic display to be put on again this year. The Professional Firework company always do a great job and the crowd are always thrilled by the spectacular display "

"This is a great family bonfire and firework night and with that in mind we have brought the times forward slightly so even the little ones can enjoy it. This year the fire will be lit around 5.15 and the fireworks around 6.30. Families can also enjoy the fairground rides and kids games tables, food, hot drinks and a bar, serving mulled wine amongst other things. There is certainly something for everyone in the family to enjoy."
