Cheers to another successful beer festival

The second Alderley Edge & Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival attracted some 350 people on Friday evening who gathered at Lindow Cricket Club to enjoy a selection of beers, street food and live entertainment.

Taking to the festival stage were local musicians Liam McClair, Ewan Sim and The Trackside Blues Band featuring Wilmslow's Steve Kennedy on the drums.

Having recovered from organising last week's Wilmslow Motor Show, Steve and his four piece covers band performed two 45 minute sets.

He told wilmslow.co.uk "The Friday night really worked and a perfect balance and variety of music, leaving Saturday as a family fun day.

"The organisation was great, our stage and PA was tremendous as were the sound technicians who made us feel like stars. We were delighted with the reception and well wishes.....and the beer was fab! This is an event for the calendar now and will get bigger year on year. Well done to the organisers!"

Saturday saw the arrival of lots of children's rides and bouncy castles and hundreds of families flocked to the field to enjoy the live music and sample some of the best regional beers.

The festival stage saw Colette Todd, Lauren Lovelle, local band CEVA, The Blue Yellows and Ewan Sim strutting their stuff and keeping the crowds entertained.

Georgie Johnson, who helped to organise the event said "It's been such an enjoyable event to run. Everyone seems to have had a great time whether eating, drinking, dancing or all three and the rides went down a storm with the younger festival goers. Roll on the next one!"

David Kendrick, Chairman of Lindow Cricket Club said, "Thank you to everyone who came and supported the two day event this year and to Denise and Georgie who put a huge amount of effort into organising it.

"It was yet again a huge success with some lovely feedback and comments from the hundreds of people who attended. Hopefully it has raised the awareness of Lindow Cricket Club and the fantastic facilities we now have."
