Final preparations are underway for the second Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival which returns this weekend.

Following on from the success of last year's inaugural event, large crowds are expected to gather at Lindow Cricket Club to enjoy live music, street food and, of course, a wide variety of casked ales. Plus this year's large marquee means that visitors can enjoy themselves whatever the weather.

In addition to over 40 different beers to try, there will be an award-winning craft cider made by Thatchers' master cider maker using his own press, ten world wines and fizz to sample.

This year's event kicks off on Friday, 30th September, with a ticket-only event from 6pm to 10pm when beer, cider, wine and food will all be accompanied by live music.

Then on Saturday, 1st October, the Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival will run between 12pm and 6pm and will include plenty for younger festival goers, inlcuding bouncy castles and rides as well as live music throughout the day.

Amongst the performers taking to the Festival Stage over the weekend are former Gorsey Bank School pupil Lauren Lovelle, Liam Mcclair, Ewan Sim, Drew Selby, Lewis Todd, Ceva, the Blue Yellows and the Trackside Blues Band.

David Kendrick, Chairman of Lindow Cricket Club said "Having seen some of the infrastructure going in for this year's event it is going to be amazing for Lindow CC to host it. Friday night should be buzzing down there with a huge marquee, live music all evening, lots of food stalls and plenty of drinks for everyone! Then we have the Saturday from 12pm which is aimed at all the family with a bouncy castles and rides for children coming down and lots more entertainment as well. Anyone in the area really needs to be coming along and we look forward to welcoming everyone at Lindow."

Tickets for Friday night's event are on available online or from Mailboxes etc on Water Lane and Saturday's festival goers are requested to make just a £1 donation on the gate to Lindow Cricket Club.
