Wilmslow Fire Fighters are hoping to build on previous fundraising success by hosting their second charity car wash event of the year at Wilmslow Fire Station on Sunday, 2nd October.

The event is part of a national campaign organised by the Fire Fighters Charity to raise money for their residential centres and spread awareness of the positive difference they make within the Fire and Rescue community.

In March this year, firefighters on Delta Watch raised £673.93. Charlie Watch, who are hosting Sunday's event, are now hoping to raise as much money for the charity as possible. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service hosted over 25 charity car washes and raised over £8,156 for the Fire Fighters Charity in last year alone.

Crew Manager Ben Wood, responsible for organising the event, said: "Over the years, the Fire Fighters Charity have helped hundreds of thousands of retired firefighters, fire personnel and members of their families. They are an asset to every Fire Fighter and their loved ones and we are so proud to be supporting them.

If you fancy getting your car cleaned for an excellent cause on Sunday please come along. You'll be helping to raise money for an incredible cause not to mention driving away in a very shiny car!"

The car wash will take place from 11am to 3pm on Sunday 2nd October at Wilmslow Fire Station on Altrincham Road.
