The 13th season of lunchtime concerts at Alderley Edge Methodist Church kicks off on Wednesday, 21st September, with a piano recital by students from Chetham's School of Music.

Four pianists will be playing items from Bach and Brahms to Chopin and Rachmaninov.

The recital will also feature Leo Bailey-Yang, aged 8, who has become the youngest person ever to gain a Performance Diploma in Piano from Trinity College, London.

Jean Walker said "Performance Diplomas are one of Trinity's most advanced performance awards, more often taken by graduate level students.

"Leo passed with a superb mark of 92%! He also played his part in inspiring young pianists in a recent edition of CBeebies "Let's Go Club", talking about his instrument, his trip to New York's Carnegie Hall, and his school!"

As usual light lunches will be served from 12 noon. Admission is by programme (£5.00) available at the door, the concert begins at 1 pm and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Jean added "It is always a pleasure to welcome new and familiar faces when we resume after the summer break and we look forward to another season of quality music."

Proceeds from our 2015-2016 concerts enabled Alderley Edge Methodist Church to make donations to the following charitable organisations:Christian Aid, Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Macmillan Cancer Care, Maxipotential. Methodist International House (Manchester), Motor Neurone Disease Association, The Oasis Centre, Gorton Red Cross and Wilmslow Wells for Africa.
