Following the success of last year's event, the second Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival is scheduled to return at the end of the month. Lindow Cricket Club 30th September and 1st October.

Last year's event saw large crowds gather at Lindow Cricket Club to enjoy music, street food and, of course, a wide variety of casked ales.

This year's event will be even bigger and better though, starting on the Friday 30th September with a ticket-only event from 6pm to 10pm when beer, cider, wine and food will all be accompanied by some foot-stomping bands.

Then on Saturday, 1st October, the Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival will run between 12pm and 6pm and will see a whole host of activities for younger festival goers inlcuding bouncy castles and rides as well as live music throughout the day.

Chairman David Kendrick said, "This is one of the biggest events in the Lindow Cricket Club calendar and we really enjoy being part of Alderley and Wilmslow's first family friendly beer festival. We had great feedback last year and have added in some more elements to make the event even better."

The Festival Stage this year will see a range of local talent including former Gorsey Bank School pupil Lauren Lovelle who has recently launched her first album, Reality. Liam Mcclair, Ewan Sim, Drew Selby and the Blue Yellows will all be making a welcome return to the Festival Stage and there will be some great tunes on Friday night with the Trackside Blues Band.

As well as over 40 different beers to try, there will be an award-winning cider from Thatchers' master cider maker Richard Johnson, who will be on hand to chat about his life making (and tasting....) cider so you can find out all you ever wanted to know about the magic of turning apples into something special.

Denise Valente of the Market Co who is organising the event said, "We're delighted to be back with an even bigger and better event this year. We've got a great line-up on every front: music, beer, wine, food and entertainment. We look forward to seeing everyone there."

Tickets for Friday night's ticket only event are on sale online or from Mailboxes etc on Water Lane.

I hope the prices for the cask ales are in line with pub prices this year, and not set at the extortionate rate they were last year.
