Help spruce up the village for the Tour of Britain

Wilmslow Road Signs (1)

Our readers will hopefully be well aware that the Tour of Britain is coming to Alderley Edge on Tuesday 6th September, as we have already published quite a few articles about this prestigious event (click on the Tour of Britain tag below to view previous articles)

This presents us with a fantastic opportunity to welcome visitors to our village and to showcase what a lovely place it is to live, work and shop in, hence local businesses and residents are being urged to play their part to ensure that Alderley Edge looks as clean and attractive as possible.

Councillor Craig Browne said "I would like everything to look at its best on the day, so I am launching an audit of signposts around the village that may be in need of a bit of a clean up (like the ones shown below), so that I can get them reported to Cheshire East Highways asap!"

Please email Councillor Craig Browne with details of any signposts which need cleaning.

I visited Bollington on Wednesday and there are lots of orange plastic cut out biker silhouettes all over the place and they look great as you travel through the village.....in shop windows and on fences and verges.
I thought it was a display of a proper village pulling together for what will be an historic and memorable event. Can we not do similar?

Some time ago, Cheshire East announced that they were stating a program of cleaning road signs. Might this impending occasion be a very good reason for them to be asked to get on with that in Alderley Edge?

So much needs doing for this World Class event, but much of it should have been done before
by Cheshire East and AEPC.
