The 75th Alderley Edge Village Show, formally known as the Annual show, has been hailed the best one ever after attracting a record number of visitors and exhibitors.
Organised by the Alderley Edge Allotments and Gardens Society the show was held in the recently refurbished Festival Hall for the first time on Saturday, 20th August.
Visitor numbers were noticeably higher than the previous year, with a steady stream of people coming through the door throughout the day and organisers were delighted with the positive feedback from visitors.
The number of exhibits was up 40% on last year with talented locals entering an impressive display of flowers, fruit and vegetables, cookery and domestic crafts as well as the children's categories which included cookery and drawing.
Fenton Simpson, Chairman of Alderley Edge Allotments and Gardens Society, said "We saw an increase in entries from the village and surrounding areas and the new look programme encouraged entries from non allotment folk which was also good to see."
He added "The Festival hall was a great venue to hold the show and the hall manager Catherine was very helpful."
The raffle, which included some great prizes donated by local businesses, was so popular that organisers ran out of tickets.
Fenton presented the cups and trophies with Chris Yearsley from Alderley Edge picking up the most awards once again, with a total of eight.
He said "I would like to thank everyone who entered the show and visited. I would also like to thank the Show Committee and army of helpers who delivered a great show."
The trophies were awarded to:

My special thanks to Jackie Dudley Jones and Sue Cannings who have been instrumental in organising the show and pop up cafe.
A lot of hard work by the dedicated few. Well done!!
The Festival Hall is a good size central venue to stage the village event.
The only negative about the venue on the day was the very limited car parking facilities available . Hopefully this will be resolved before too long with the Parish Council recognising that improved car parking facilities are key priority for the village and for the Festival Hall to be a successful home for bigger income generating events.
Looking forward to next years village show.
The hall was an excellent venue. As for the parking, I drove to the hall on three seperate occasions on the day of the show and parked easily each time, my wife also parked on two occasions with no problems.
