New pharmacy prepares to open at Alderley Edge Medical Centre

Jack Yeramian from Cedrics signed the lease to take up occupancy of the new pharmacy on Thursday, 3rd August, which is located alongside the doctors' surgery in the new Medical Centre at the Festival Hall.

Jack plans to transfer stock over from his London Road premises on Monday 8th August and to be open for business at the latest by Wednesday 10th August.

He said "This is the culmination of many years' hard work. We are very excited to be moving into this brand new building and we hope our customers will appreciate the care that has gone into fitting-out the new Pharmacy. Cedrics Chemist staff will be delighted to welcome customers and friends, old and new, at the new premises."

Alderley Edge patients will now be able to get their prescription fulfilled within minutes of getting it from their doctor - and without even having to step outside, as there is a linking door into the Pharmacy from the doctor's waiting room.

Cedrics has occupied its premises at 67 London Road for over 37 years and the building has housed a pharmacy continuously since 1870. So, it's the end of a tradition at 67 London Rd, but the start of a new era at the Medical Centre.

Cedrics will be retaining their premises at 20 London Road (on the corner of West Street) as a fully functioning high street pharmacy, carrying on from the Charnley family and the Cumberbach family before them. 20 London Road has been a pharmacy ever since it was built in 1852.

Jack added "This is very much a family business. My wife Sylvie has worked in the pharmacy ever since we opened, and has been a great help to us in the preparation of the new premises. And my daughter Christine Mkhitarian, who will be running the new Pharmacy, is already well known to our clients."
