Alderley Edge Union Club hosted their annual beer festival on Saturday 25th June, raising money for two good causes.

The eighth annual Alderley Edge Micro Beer Festival was hailed a big success, enabling organisers to donate £600 for Walking with the Wounded and £400 for Alderley Royal British Legion which will pay for the marching band for the Remembrance Day Parade in November.

Terry Bowes said "Once again the beer festival was a roaring success with fantastic bands and musicians, excellent local ales and ciders topped off with a great BBQ.

"The children's entertainer was superb with all the kids playing on the green and really enjoying themselves and Wilmslow Lions came long to do face painting, which added to the fun."

During the event their steward Wayne was presented with a certificate by Macclesfield and East Cheshire CAMRA for Club of the year.

Alderley History Group, Alderley Edge Partnership and Alderley Royal British Legion along with Walking with the Wounded all attended, putting on displays for the visitors and members.

Terry added "Overall it was a lovely family day out."
