Warning after cars and jewellery stolen in two burglaries

Police are urging residents to be vigilant following two recent burglaries in Alderley Edge.

A resident returned from their holiday to find their home on Mottram Road had been broken into. Offenders entered via a forced conservatory door and carried out an untidy search of the property. A number of items were taken, including jewellery.

Burglars also entered a property on Knutsford Road overnight on Friday 24th June. Entry was gained via a conservatory window and whilst in the property two sets of car keys were taken.

The offenders then left the property with the vehicles. One of the vehicles taken has since been recovered within the local area and returned to the keeper.

PCSO Emma Darroch said "It appears that there is no correlation with the burglaries at this time, however please be vigilant and look after your and your neighbours properties, do not leave windows or doors open whilst you are out or even if you are out the back. A burglary can occur within a couple of minutes."
