Traditional village fete returns for 8th year

Preparations are well underway for the Alderley Edge Village Fete, which will take place at Alderley Edge Cricket Club on Sunday 26th June.

Now in its 8th year, this ever popular family event will feature traditional favourites such as a fun dog show, children's fairground, musicians and over 30 of art and craft stalls selling a wide variety of produce.

Afternoon tea and cakes will be available in the marquee and will this year will be accompanied by live music and dancing. Whilst other refreshments include a Pimms Bar, Cuban style BBQ and ice cream.

Club Manager John Berry said "The Cricket Club are delighted to host the traditional annual village fete on the stunning grounds in the shadow of the Edge.

"The unique setting is the perfect location for such an event and the Club are delighted that the grounds can be utilised for all those living in our beautiful village."

Visitors to the fete are encouraged to bring along pet dogs and enter into the fun dog show which will feature a variety of categories.

John Berry added "As well as the fete, local residents and guests are also welcome at two social events held within the marquee. Thursday night sees us host a comedy night and Saturday we are holding a summer party and music festival.

"We would be delighted to welcome anyone that hasn't visited Alderley Edge Cricket Club to attend any or all of these events for what promises to be a fun filled weekend."

The Alderley Edge Village Fete will open from 12noon to 5pm and entrance is £1.
