Revised plans for residential development on site of former nightclub

Following discussions with the planning officers at Cheshire East Council, a revised planning application has been submitted for the demolition of a former nightclub and replacement with a residential development.

MCR Property Group initially applied to build ten detached dwellings on the 1.67 Ha site of the former Yesterdays nightclub at Harden Park, which lies in the North Cheshire Green Belt.

However, following talks with the Council these ten single-storey buildings have been reduced in size and two have been re-designed as semi-detached units to provide four affordable dwellings, which are currently being discussed with Cheshire East Council.

The existing building is a Victorian villa which was originally a small hotel though most recently it used as a nightclub, restaurant and bar. Yesterdays closed in 2004 and the property has remained vacant since.

The planning application, which also includes associated car parking, gardens and landscaping, can be viewed on the on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 15/1955M.

It is due to be considered by the Plans Committee of Alderley Edge Parish Council on Monday, 20th June, and at a meeting of the Northern Planning Committee on 6th July. The deadline for submitting comments is 4th July.
