Two properties searched and three people arrested on suspicion of money laundering

Officers from Greater Manchester Police have executed two warrants in Alderley Edge as part of a money laundering investigation.

The searches took place about 7am yesterday, Tuesday, 17th May, at a house on Chapel Road and another property on The Avenue.

A number of expensive vehicles and jewellery were seized from the properties.

Two men aged 32 and 35 and a 36-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering. All three have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Neal Colburn, for GMP's Economic Fraud Unit, said: "We have executed these warrants as part of an on-going investigation into money laundering in the Greater Manchester area.

"We currently have three people on bail and we have seized a number of high-value vehicles and a quantity of jewellery.

"These warrants do not mark the end our investigation and we will continue with our enquiries.
