On your marks for the May Fair 5k

After the success of last year's inaugural Alderley Edge May Fair 5K, organisers are hoping that this year's event will attract more participants and get people active again.

Last year over 100 people took to the streets and fields of Alderley Edge, whilst some were running, others completed the 5K by walking or Nordic walking before returning back to the park for celebratory drinks.

This year's event is once again being organised by Physiofit and will take place on Friday 20th May. Registration starts at 6pm in the park and the event will kick off at 7pm.

Angie Jackson said "We want even more people involved this year, the event will be on the same course as last year."

Physiofit will cover all the costs of staging the event but ask that participants make a donation to CRY via their mydonate page. Alternatively, if you would prefer, donations can be dropped into the clinic.

Angie added "Cry do some amazing work, although a charity not as well-known as many. Sadly, every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families. They also promote and develop heart screening programmes and funds medical research into these conditions."

Physiofit have linked up with Run Britain this year to help make the registration process really easy. Simply click here and fill out the registration page.
