"He showed great courage and resilience through many illnesses that plagued him all his life and he was always ready with a smile and amusing quip. He will be sadly missed."

Very sorry to hear this. Brian always had time for everybody, church goer or not. Always smiling and laughing. I remember him coming to Alderley Edge when my children were at the primary school and the huge difference he made to the parish and the village.

Amazing lovely man, very fond memories, always cheery, funny and there offering support. I enjoyed my time serving with him. Brian will never be forgotten, a very special kind man who touched so many lives. Thoughts are with Anna and family at this very difficult time. X

Brian was a devoted vicar of the parish. He was loved by all, and will be sadly missed. One of his greatest characteristics was that he understood you, whether you attended church regularly or not. He also liked to be appreciated for who he was, rather than for what he was. Our daughter said that his presence always lightened up school assembly.Rest in peace in Head Office, Brian.
