Warning after spate of burglaries in December

Police are warning residents to be vigilant following a recent spate of burglaries.

There has been 16 burglaries in the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge area since the beginning of December 2015. The majority of these incidents have occurred in the Wilmslow West and Chorley area. In most instances the burglaries have occurred during the day and entrance has been gained via the rear of the properties.

The most recent incident occurred on Appleton Walk in Wilmslow on Friday, 1st January.

Sgt Angela Coppock said "Initial enquires with the occupants are still need to be made. This on the face of it is an isolated incident that is not believed to be connected to any other burglary in the area."

"Cheshire Police are active progressing all lines of enquiry and are increasing patrolling around the specific areas. They encourage residents to be vigilant and report suspicious incidents and or activity in their area to the Police via 101. You can also provide information anonymously to Cimestoppers on 0800 555111."
