Three homes burgled in Alderley Edge

Police are appealing for witnesses after three properties were broken into in the village earlier this week.

The first two burglaries occurred overnight on Boxing Day on Moss Lane and Moss Road.

In both incidents entry was gained via the rear of the property. One of the houses was entered via an insecure rear door and once inside the offenders took the shed key, unlocked the shed and stole property from within. At the other house, entry was gained by drilling a hole in the wooden window frame to force the lock open.

The following day, Sunday 27th December, a distraction burglary occurred between 10:15am and 10:20am on Knutsford Road, Alderley Edge. An unknown male knocked on the front door of a residential property and whilst the occupant was speaking to the man another person entered the back of the property via an insecure rear door and stolen property from within.

A police spokesperson said "Cheshire Police encourage residents to be vigilant and report suspicious incidents and or activity in their area to the Police via 101. You can also provide information anonymously to Cimestoppers on 0800 555111."

Further advice regarding home safety can be found here on the Cheshire Police website.
