Alderley Edge Parish Council are calling for residents to get involved and help them to put together a Neighbourhood Plan - which were introduced through the Localism Act 2011 to enable communities to help shape development in their areas.

Councillor Christine Munro said "If you want to feel part of your village, there's no better way than to get involved with the Parish Council's Neighbourhood Plan initiative.

"Reflecting villager's current views and future aspirations for the community. Alderley Edge's proposed Neighbourhood Plan will be a detailed document that gives voice to local opinion, setting out a common vision for how the community should develop over the coming years to 2030.

"Once completed, the Neighbourhood Plan will sit alongside Cheshire East's Local Plan (Editor's note - which is not yet approved) and both documents will be considered in any planning applications affecting our village."

Christine added "To ensure that it absolutely represents local views, the final draft of the Neighbourhood Plan will be put to a community referendum (rather like a Parish Poll), giving local residents and businesses the opportunity to have their say on whether they agree with the priorities identified by the Plan."

Costs please.
Minimum cost, likely cost and worst scenario cost please.
Who did the costings please?

The last time this was looked at, for A.E., the worst was circa £50,000.00 !

Correct Duncan.
Cost was high so we need proper costings for this one.

I would love to get involved but it should be led from outside the PC as it was before.

I agree that we should have a Neighbourhood Plan but as previously mentioned when it was investigated in the past the costs quoted were ridiculously expensive. The plans involve a serious amount of work and as Geoff mentioned in another article PC members do have other jobs and businesses to run so it would probably be best done by a separate group.

i think we need to get this going and if your not part of the solution your part of the problem.

There are lots of people in this village with the skills and time to put this together without party politics getting in the way.

The public have asked for information on the possible costs involved.
Who is contributing and what has the P.C. decided are the max. and min. likely costs?
That is NOT party politics. Why won't you release costings figures?

Please stop with the outdated management cliches. Or will the next one be 'we can put the show on right here boys and girls'.

If you 'get this going' without planning for costs, you could end up with a hefty financial bill.

have you had volunteers with 'skills and time' yet ? perhaps we might be told who they are, so that we can thank them?
