Village road closures

roadworks1

As a result of essential resurfacing and lining replacement works Macclesfield Road, between the A34 London Road and Trafford Road will be closed on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of November.

Chapel Lane will be used for the storage of materials during this period and therefore will also closed between the A34 London Road and Trafford Road.

Traffic signals will be in place whilst the works are carried out on the junction with the A34, although this work is anticipated to take place during off-peak hours.

Diversions will be in place, redirecting traffic via Fallibroome Road, Priory Lane, the A537 Chelford Road and back on to the A34 Congleton Road.

Please note parking on Trafford Road, between Chapel Lane and Macclesfield Road, will be temporarily prohibited during the works.

Have just spoken to the contractors. They will be clear by about 2.30 - 3.00 pm today and the road re-opened at that time.

A number of us have taken up the issues of the signage of the alternative routes which lead to gridlock in the village yesterday with the Highways Dept.

Macclesfield Road and Chapel Lane are both now open. There is a little bit of yellow line painting going on up towards the Edge Hotel but that is causing little or no problems for passing traffic.
