As many local residents will have noticed there was a heavy police presence in Alderley Edge this morning (Friday, 6th November).

Cheshire Police, in conjunction with Greater Manchester Police, were pursuing a vehicle which was stolen from the Greater Manchester area.

Police officers were assisted by a police helicopter which was hovering low over the village and circling the area for some time.

GMP were pursuing the stolen vehicle through Chelford but we understand they lost it in Alderley Edge. No arrests have been made at present.

Well; having been forced off the road and on to the foot-path by an un-marked dark AUDI vehicle flashing blue lights driving towards me on the wrong side of the road past Lindow Common I'm glad to know that the Crown Jewels are still in place! One can only wonder what precious vehicle this was which caused so much expenditure (not to mention danger to J. Public) at a time when we read that they don't have any money to do the basic policing, either in Manchester or Cheshire.

I'm not sure that Chelford is part of GMP's patch.
Could I expect the same response if I reported my car stolen?
