Macmillan coffee morning success

Local businesses, organisations and schools across Alderley Edge and Wilmslow invited people to join them for a cuppa and cake on Friday 25th September to raise money for people affected by cancer.

Freshly brewed tea and coffee were served along with an impressive selection of homemade cakes in return for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Research Trust.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's annual flagship fundraiser and celebrated its 25th birthday this year.

Amongst those taking part was Alderley Edge Union Club on Stevens Street which raised £200 for Macmillan and Alderley Pilates whose coffee morning raised £125.

Terry Bowes, Secretary of Alderley Edge Union Club, said "Thanks to all who came, including all the builders from the site opposite the Club. Also thanks to all the Ladies who baked for us,everything on offer was homemade."
