Internal works at Festival Hall scheduled for completion next month

Councillors Craig Browne, Geoff Hall and Mike Dudley-Jones visited the Festival Hall yesterday for a site inspection and are pleased to report that the project is on schedule and the internal works should be completed by the end of October.

The hall will remain closed for a short period after the internal works are complete whilst the scaffolding is taken down.

Councillor Craig Browne said "External work on the new side entrance is progressing well, as you can see. Meanwhile I can also confirm that the Parish Council has submitted a planning application to enable the Members' Lounge and ancillary meeting rooms to go ahead - these works had originally been scheduled as part of a separate phase.

"I'm also pleased to report that the Parish Council will establish an Advisory Board to assist with the longer term funding, maintenance and operation of the Festival Hall. Whilst two parish councillors will sit on the Advisory Board, it will principally comprise of representatives of Festival Hall user groups and members of the wider community.

"Anyone wishing to become involved in the Advisory Board should contact me, or come and speak to me at my Community Surgery at Aldeli at 10am tomorrow (Friday, 25th September).

It's nice to hear things are progressing well with the Alderly First Medical center, and well done for all the hard work. Sorry Alderley Edge,s first medical center.

"They" said it would never get completed under a non conservative Parish Council on the eve of the election...

Well done to the new PC for following this through.

I can't wait to see the completed inside for myself!

It looks a lot larger inside, and the old ceiling really sets it off, pretty spectacular, ideal for The Village Show.
