Local beer festival brewing for this weekend

The first Alderley Edge & Wilmslow Beer & Wine Festival will take place on Saturday, 26th September, at the Lindow Cricket Club. The event is free to attend and promises to be a great day out for the whole family.

Along with an impressive line up of 40 local cask ales, a selection of ciders and world wines, there will be food on offer from some of the most original street food companies in the North West.

Denise Valente of the Market Co who is organising the event said "We're looking forward to this new event for Alderley Edge and Wilmslow. It should be a great day out for all ages and we'd encourage everyone to come along and enjoy the food, drink and incredible entertainment on offer."

Sadie Pickering of The Yard has organised the entertainment on the Festival Stage which will include performances from The Blue Yellows, Ewan Sim, Phil Cochran, Drew Selby, Liam McClair, The Magic Voices and many more.

Sadie commented "We've got some great local singers and bands who are looking forward to performing on Saturday. Come along and support live, local music - it should be a wonderful event."

Everyone is encouraged to bring along chairs and picnic rugs and make the most of everything on offer during the day.

Local sports clubs have also been invited to come along and showcase their sports to younger festival goers who will be able to try out hockey with Alderley Hockey Club, tennis with Pownall Park LTC, football skills with WFA and Wilmslow Town FC and cricket with Lindow CC. For those of you wanting to see Rugby World Cup match the game will be shown live in the clubhouse at the Cricket Club, so you can keep enjoying the beer and not miss the game!

The day starts at 12noon, runs until 10pm and is free to attend. Please note it is cash only for drinks tokens and street food.
