Alderley Edge Parish Council has set aside a budget to cover the costs of future public meetings and residents surveys.

The Parish Council is intending to hold three public meetings per annum and this budget would cover the hire of the hall and costs for handing out printed information at the meetings as well as any newsletters and surveys they wish to circulate throughout the year.

Speaking at the Parish Council meeting on Monday, 7th September, Councillor Ruth Norbury said "I think it's really important considering our message when we were putting ourselves up for election, we do need to have informal public meetings."

She added "I think it's an important part of our message that we will inform everybody in the village what we are doing and where we are up to. The costs aren't huge for that and I think it's very important."

Council Mike Dudley-Jones commented "I agree it does support the message that we came into this position on."

The Parish Council agreed an annual budget of £1000.

Councillor Craig Browne added "It doesn't mean we have to spend it, it is there if we need it."
