A local resident has joined the Alderley Edge Community Speed Watch group which was established two years ago, to address the issue of speeding vehicles in the village.
With the existing male volunteer and the continued help and support from PCSO Sarah Stanley this takes the team back up to three members.
PCSO Stanley said "This means that the Speed Watch group can continue to monitor the traffic on Macclesfield Road, Brook Lane, Ryleys Lane and Congleton Road."
Volunteers who have been trained in the use of a speed gun, spend an hour whenever they can and record the speed of passing vehicles on these four main roads in the village.
They record vehicles that are traveling in excess of 36mph in a 30 mile speed limit, motorists are then sent a warning letter from the police.
