For one day only Alice in Wonderland is coming to Alderley Edge for a very special occassion.

The Queen of Hearts Miss Kirsty Howard invites you to her 20th birthday celebrations upstairs at The Botanist from 4pm until 7.30pm on Sunday 27th September.

The room will be transformed for The Kirsty Club Charity Mad Hatter event with an Alice in Wonderland theme to mark the 20th birthday of brave fundraiser Kirsty Howard.

Kirsty is a truly inspirational young lady who battles her own illness on a daily basis. She was born with her heart back to front, which is an exceptionally rare condition which requires extensive treatment. In February 1999, she was given only six weeks to live, but defied the odds.

Phil Taylor of The Kirsty Club, told alderleyedge.com "Obviously I speak with Kirsty all the time and we go out together a couple of times a week for some sort of food, one of our favourite pastimes is getting fat lol.

"When Jo (Scott Aspray) first mentioned her idea for Kirsty's 20th birthday party, we were thrilled with the concept - afternoon tea, how very grown up we thought.

"However when Kirsty was asked to dress as Alice or the Queen of Hearts it was a resounding NO, I think the years of dressing her like a little princess have taken their toll on her!!"

Guests will have the opportunity to meet Alice and the characters, enjoy a welcome drink and quirky afternoon tea, a magic show, balloon modelling and face painting. Prizes will be awarded for the best mad hat.

Phil added "The reason that the party is on 27th September is because on her actual birthday 20th September she is going out on the town in Manchester with her two sisters and some friends where I am sure she will take to the WKD alchopop drink.

"Also as tea is Kirsty's favourite drink, and she drinks gallons of it, and sandwiches will be on the menu its a win win.

"So bring on The Botanist Mad Hatter Tea Party and thank you to Jo Scott Aspray, Karen Hamilton, Keri Hannigan and Lindsey Price for all the organisation also to all the people that have donated prizes and James Dolan at icatching events for the use of his Alice props."

This is an exclusively ticket only event with limited places. Tickets priced £25 and £85 for a family of two adults and two children are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk or The Botanist. All proceeds from the event will go to Francis House Hospice.
