Neighbourhood policing update

parking-notice

It has not even been two months since I took over Alderley Edge as my beat and already I feel very passionate about this community. As the new PCSO I have been made to feel very welcome by the local residents and businesses. I have spent this time getting to know the area and the issues we face. With your help and support we can work together to make Alderley Edge a better place to live and work in. *cut*

Issues that have been raised with me include parking especially, on Lynton Lane and Ryleys Lane, to try and control this I have begun by displaying police advisory notices on Lynton Lane, explaining the consequences of dangerous and obstructive parking. I have also contacted Ryleys School and asked if I can provide them with a letter, highlighting the above, to give to parents.

Whilst patrolling Alderley Edge Park, I stumbled across the children’s playing area which was covered in obscene graffiti; I contacted Cheshire East council who immediately attended to remove the damage.

Another issue which many residents are concerned about is the increasing amount of youths that are hanging around Beech Road Park on the estate, this is something that I and my colleagues are fully alive to and are actively patrolling the area during day and night shifts.

If you wish to discuss anything, or have any ideas or comments please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be contacted by phone on 0845 458 6374 or via e-mail on [email protected].

I haven't seen the parking problems on Rileys Lane, but if you ever patrol down Heyes Lane you might see it being used for all day parking. There can be cars parked on both sides of the road starting from the old library building. See video below.

Well done Michael for posting the video, maybe something will be done about the problem now that people can see what we are talking about.

As the parent of a youth who I am sure must go to the park I would like to point out that it is a park for all and does not close at night. The nearest Youth Centre is in Handforth !
