Organisers of the Alderley Edge Micro Beer Festival are thrilled that it was the most successful one to date.

Held at the Alderley Edge Union Club, the 7th annual beer festival attracted 350 people, many of whom are already looking forward to next year.

The event also raised £5,500 towards the refurbishment of the Union Club on Stevens street.

Along with real ales from local micro breweries and ciders from local micro breweries, a BBQ and raffle were were available.

Visitors were entertained with live music throughout the day from 27 artists including Borowski Moylan and Hammill, The Purpletones, Incredible Planet, Gaynor Wilson & Paul McGladdery, Over Alderley Brass Band and the Fosbrooks youth group who entertained the crowd with their fiddles and clog dancing.

Terry Bowes, Secretary of Alderley Edge Union Club, said "The festival raised a lot towards our re-furb fund and without this kind of support and event we would not be progressing as we are at the moment. All help was voluntary and we can't thank those folks enough.

"We'll see you next year for a bigger and better one."
