On your marks for The Wizard 5 race

Wilmslow Running Club is invite people to take part in a 5 mile race around the village on Thursday, 9th July.

The Wizard 5 is a running race of approximately 5 miles on paths and trails around Alderley Edge, with a short road section. The start and finish are both at Alderley Edge National Trust car park.

Now in it's 12th year, entries have grown to over 200, including local club runners and fun runners from the area.

Andy Watts commented :This is a small informal race organised by Wilmslow Running Club (who also organise the Wilmslow Half-Marathon). We are ably assisted by volunteers from the Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society, to whom all proceeds from the race will go."

The race will start at 7.30pm and will be run under UKA Rules.

Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women. There will also be veteran categories and prizes for the first mens and first women's team.

Entry fee is £6 for club members and £8 for unattached runners. Click here to download an entry form or register online at www.race-results.co.uk.

Runners can also enter on the night, for £2 extra, up to the limit of 250 competitors. The last day for advance entries is Monday 6th July.
