Preparations are well underway for the 7th Alderley Edge Village Fete, which will take place at Alderley Edge Cricket Club on Sunday, 28th June.

Organisers Emma Bolton, Carole Geary and John Berry aim to bring something for all the family to the event, with 2015 seeing the return of popular activities and stalls, such as the children's fun fair, laser clay pigeon shoot, artisan stalls and the ever popular dog show.

Keith Lowe, Chairman of the Alderley Edge Music Festival, is arranging for musicians from local schools to perform throughout the afternoon.

The fete supports local charities and this year Francis House Children's Hospice, headed by Carole Geary and her team of volunteers, will be providing afternoon tea as well as manning stalls to raise vital funds for the hospice. Refreshments will also include a BBQ and Pimms bar.

John Berry said "The setting at the foot of the Edge offers the perfect backdrop to this traditional village event and culminates a number of community events held at the Cricket Club throughout the week."

The Alderley Edge Village Fete will open at 1pm and there is an entry fee of £2.50 for adults, and £5 for a family of 4.

Prior to the fete Alderley Edge Cricket Club is hosting three community events in the marquee. On Wednesday, 24th June, there will be an "Antique Roadshow" style afternoon from 2pm until 6pm, where people can have items valued by experts from Wright Marshall Ltd. Entrance costs £12.50, which includes a glass of Pimms as well as afternoon tea.

The following evening, three comedians from the Comedy Store will be supplying the entertainment, starting at 8pm. Tickets are priced £10 and include a curry.

On Saturday, 27th June, the cricket club will host a Mini Festival with music provided by The Yard and food available from Tomfoolery at 34 along with other refreshments including rum, Prosecco, wine and ale bars located in the marquee. Tickets cost £12.50 in advance, or £15 on the night, and include a rum punch.

Tickets for these events are available from Alderley Edge Cricket Club. For further information call 01625 584733.
