Alderley Edge Cricket Club (AECC) is hosting four community events in their marquee at the end of the month.

The programme of events start on Wednesday 24th June with an "Antique Roadshow" style afternoon whereby anyone wishing to have an item valued can have it inspected by experts from Wright Marshall Ltd. Entrance costs £12.50, which includes a glass of Pimms as well as afternoon tea. The event will take place from 2pm until 6pm.

The following evening, three comedians from the Comedy Store will be supplying the entertainment. Tickets priced £10, including a curry, are available from the AECC clubhouse. The Comedy & Curry evening starts at 8pm.

On Saturday, 27th June, the cricket club will host a Mini Festival with music provided by The Yard and food available from Tomfoolery at 34 along with other refreshments including rum, Prosecco, wine and ale bars located in the marquee.

Tickets are available from the Cricket Club costing £12.50 (or £15 on the night) and include a rum punch.

Then on Sunday the cricket club will host the ever popular Village Fete with fairground rides, side shows, artisan stalls, a dog show, afternoon teas, BBQ and Pimms Bar.

John Berry, Manager at Alderley Cricket Club, said "These events are what we term 'community events' when we open up our facilities to the village. This was the aim when we introduced the November Fireworks Display followed by the Village Fete.

"Traditionally the Cricket Club hosted a Summer Ball at the end of June in the marquee, which lay unused for a period of time both pre and post the ball, we now look to utilise this facility for local usage as well as for our members. We can provide the infrastructure for large scale events not readily available within the village during the time the marquee on site."

John added "The four events we have planned this year are diverse in their appeal and hopefully there will be something for everyone.

"If any local organisation or individual would like to utilise the facilities in future years then we are always receptive to new ideas for such events."

Tickets for these events are available from Alderley Edge Cricket Club. For further information call 01625 584733.
