A goalkeeper from Alderley Edge Hockey Club represented England in the Four Nations Championships hosted by Swansea at the weekend.

James Riley, who has been first team captain for the past six years, played for the Over 40's squad in the three day tournament.

England won all three games, beating Ireland 3-0 on Friday, Scotland 4-2 on Saturday and finishing off with a 8-1 win over Wales on Sunday, to be crowned tournament champions.

James, who was supported at the tournament by his family, said "After bronze at last year's World Cup it was great to finally get my hands on a trophy.

"I am looking forward to challenging for selection in the future tournaments including the European Championships in August and further World Cup campaigns - and making sure that Alderley Edge benefit from my experiences."

England's Over 50s team also won all their games.
