Cycle users can now navigate the Wilmslow area with greater ease thanks to the launch of the 2015 edition of the Wilmslow Area Cycle Map and Guide.

Produced by CycleWilmslow, in partnership with Active Maps of Knutsford, the free publication highlights safer routes in Wilmslow, Styal, Alderley Edge and Handforth. It also makes suggestions for pleasant rides in the wider area whilst providing useful information about cycling organisations.

A CycleWilmslow spokesperson said "We're delighted to launch this, our 4th edition of the map, and hope that it encourages residents of all ages to cycle. We're grateful to Handforth Parish Council and Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund for supporting us with the production costs. On previous occasions also we've been fortunate to receive funding from the likes of Wilmslow Town Council, Cheshire, East, Waitrose and National Trust."

The map can be collected from local libraries, cycle shops and Quarry Bank Mill ticket office – copies will also be distributed via local primary schools in the coming weeks.

CycleWilmslow is a community voluntary group which advocates cycling for leisure, transport and a enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Membership is free but the group desperately needs people to come forward to play an active role in ensuring that it can continue to work for cycling locally. Anyone interested in joining or becoming involved may email or call 07779 483713.
