PCSO targets illegal parking on Trafford Road

traffordroad

Over the last few weeks Cheshire Police have received numerous calls from local residents complaining about the parking on Trafford Road.

They are concerned about the vehicles parking on the pavement, near the junctions with Macclesfield Road and Chapel Road and parking on the bends.

PCSO Sarah Stanley targeted the area last month and has spoken with the builders and local residents. Sarah has also issued 15 advisory notices to those vehicles parked incorrectly.

PCSO Sarah Stanley said "The advisory notices seem to be working as the vehicles that have been issued a notice have not parked incorrectly when the area has been revisited."

The parking on Trafford Road will be monitored closely over the coming months.

It is about time there was action on dangerous parking around the village, this has been going on for too long, now maybe the PSCO can look at Heyes Lane where again due to parking traffic, has to go on wrong side of road heading towards village .Traffic heading from the village is going too fast and speed should also be looked at

Graham: I wouldn't get too excited. My own personal experience of the same problem in Wilmslow tells me that this is about as much as the police will do. They simply don't have the resources or time to do any more than what the PCSO has already done.

Displacement is not a solution. This is the result.

So Legal parking allows traffic to force other traffic onto wrong side of road round blind bends???

Until double yellows are painted there then folk will park there just as they do on the blind bend on Heyes Lane!

I still think this upper section of trafford road should be one way, allowing for safe parking on one side up its entire length.
