Two women injured in Alderley Edge bypass crash

The drivers of two vehicles involved in a collision on the Alderley Edge bypass this afternoon have both been transported to hospital.

Police officers were called to report of an accident on the A34 Alderley Edge bypass at 12.22pm on Monday, 29th December.

Officers attended the scene and found that the collision was a two vehicle incident involving a Black Audi Q5 and a Blue Vauxhall Mokka.

As a result of the collision the bypass was closed in both directions.

A police spokesperson said "A 41-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman sustained injuries as a result of the collision and they have both been transported to hospital."

The road was reopened at approximately 3pm.
