Having received more higher priced items than usual Marie Curie in Alderley Edge have decided to auction off a selection of these donations.

Manager Linda Jones told us "We came up with the idea to help raise the profile and raise extra funds for the Marie Curie nurses".

Items going under the hammer include this full length sequinned gown which has been donated by diet and fitness expert Rosemary Conley, a mahogony games table and a set of 13 paintings, which includes The Cries of London by F Wheatley.

Also up for grabs are two pictures by Jack Vettriano, X-factor memorabilia, a gold necklace, stamp albums, a camera, a signed copy of the Little Britain book and various ceramics collectables.

The auction starts on Monday 7th September when the collection of over fifty items will be displayed instore. Customers will then have until noon on September 30th to place their bids. It is not a blind auction so you can keep up to date with the latest bids by either visiting or phoning the shop. For further information contact Marie Curie on 01625 590275.
