Glass specialist opens Alderley Edge showroom

A new showroom has opened in the village offering a selection of wardrobe TVs, sliding wardrobes, walk in wardrobes and mirrored TVs.

Clarkson of Cheshire is a new venture for CS Glaziers, a specialist glass and glazing company based in North Wales and founded in 1967.

The business has diversified to develop wardrobe TVs which are bonded to the glass and invisible once you turn them off, with the options to include built in Xboxes, PCs and dvd players.

Dave McFarlane, manager of the Alderley Edge showroom, explained "There is nothing in glass we don't do. We like to diversity and to experiment. I googled TVs in wardrobes and no-one bonds them like we do. It took us a couple of months to work the mechanics out and 4 to 6 months to get to the point we are at now.

"When you switch it off you don't know the TV is there. Nobody in Europe does this."

The wardrobe TVs were finished two to three months ago and the company is currently waiting for the intellectual property rights to be assigned.

Speaking about why they decided to open a showroom in Alderley Edge, Dave said "We have fitted a lot of products in London but felt the best place to exhibit this is Alderley Edge and it is not too far from our factory in North Wales."

Clarkson of Cheshire also offer a service of printing photos onto glass "which doesn't peel or scratch", bespoke splash backs and oak furniture which can be clad in over 200 standard colours of glass as well as numerous bespoke options.

The showroom is located at 48a London Road in the premises previously occupied by Meridian, which specialised in the design and manufacture of high-end audio, video and home theatre systems.
