Who will pop up to replace Balti restaurant?

After running Alderley Balti Restaurant for 15 years, the owners have decided it is time to move on.

Asif Sardar took over the business in 1999. At the time it was called Indian Experience, and operated as a takeaway only.

In 2004 the takeaway was transformed and the Balti Restaurant was born. The owner's son Atif joined the business in 2009 and had been managing it in recent years.

According to a sign in the window a pop-up shop will be opening at 7 London Road shortly.

We've had a guess at who we think it might be, but can you guess who? - share your ideas, or thoughts on who you would like to see open there, via the comment box below.

I certainly look forward to shopping at "xamil railway". Oh hold on; word searches were never my thing really.

Can make out the word Pakora, also Railway. Who knows, haven't got a clue. Probably a pop-up charity shop.

I've noticed the letters O, X, F, A, M are bundled together near the top. Charity shop anyone?

Perhaps ... a business that doesn't attract customers seeking to park their cars nearby ... a 'left hand' shop maybe ?

Could it be the latest trend?
A pop-up retail space is a venue that is temporary: the space could be a sample sale one day and host a private cocktail party the next evening. The trend involves "popping up" one day, then disappearing anywhere from one day to several weeks later. These shops, while small and temporary, can build up interest by consumer exposure. Pop-up retail allows a company to create a unique environment that engages their customers and generates a feeling of relevance and interactivity. They are often used by marketers for seasonal items such as Halloween costumes and decorations, Christmas gifts and Christmas trees, or fireworks

Please note that in true ‘Mughlai’ tradition we do not serve beef and only use halal meats in all of our restaurants.

Give it a miss then !
