Royal Patron visits local charity

A local charity were delighted to welcome their Royal Patron on Wednesday, 22nd October.

Her Royal Highness, Sophie Countess of Wessex took time out of her busy schedule last week to visit David Lewis in Warford.

During her visit she spent time talking to residents, observed physio and hydrotherapy sessions and met the medical and therapy teams.

Students from the David Lewis College demonstrated their vocational skills in their dog grooming enterprise "Doggylicious" and the garden maintenance team described the work that they do locally.

The Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Joelle Warren, the Mayor of East Cheshire, Councillor Wesley Fitzgerald, the Mayoress, Mrs Joan Fitzgerald and the Chief Executive of Cheshire East Council, Mike Suarez also attended the event.

Nicky Downes, Fundraising Manager at David Lewis commented "During her visit, the Countess was delighted to hear of our progress towards our most ambitious fundraising challenge to date, income and pledges now a add up to more than 50% of the £1 million target for a brand new purpose built Therapy Suite. Having seen the physio and occupational therapists working together in the existing facilities the Countess was excited to see the Therapy Suite project and have a clear understanding of the difference it will make."
