Local charity, Hampers of Hope, have been overwhelmed at the level of support for their charity from local Alderley Edge schools.

During September and October, Alderley Edge School for Girls; Alderley Edge Community Primary School and The Ryleys have all supported the charity with their very generous harvest collections.

Cristel Berridge, founder of Hampers of Hope commented: "The generosity of the pupils, teachers and parents of the Alderley Edge schools is has been incredible. We love the way the children have thought of local families in need and shared what they have during this very special harvest time."

Head teacher, Mr Perry from Alderley Edge Community Primary said "We are delighted to support this important local charity. Too often assumptions are made about the needs of families living in the locality so it is great that we can help in this way.

"The children thoroughly enjoyed Cristel and her team's assembly in school recently. This certainly helped children understand the work the charity does. It was lovely that Hampers of Hope could join us at our Harvest Service and I would like to say many thanks to our parent body for their support in bringing so many food items in to school."

Hampers of Hope North East Cheshire foodbank feeds people in the area most days of the year and they are always grateful for food donations. The charity has a permanent food collection point at the entrance to St Philips & St James Church for those who would like to continue to donate food throughout the year.
