POSTPONED - Concert: 'Music for a Summer Afternoon'

Saturday, 3rd Jun, 2017 2:00pm

The programme of 'Music for a Summer Afternoon' will include music by Handel, Mozart and Hahn as well as songs from 'The Sound of Music' and 'My Fair Lady'.

Voluntary donations will be taken on the door in aid of Kidneys for Life.

Emily Shercliff (soprano) moved to Manchester in August 2014 to take up her current post as Head of Junior School Music at The Manchester Grammar School. She studied Music at Oxford, where she was a choral scholar at The Queen's College, before beginning her teaching career in 2013. She is passionate about teaching but sings as much as she can in her spare time. Recent performances include Schubert's Mass in A Flat with Prestbury Choral Society, and 'Glamorous Night' with Cheshire Light Opera.

Claire Dunham (piano accompanist) has recorded three CDs with wind trio intriplicate and performs with vocal duo Voci Dolci. Her work as an accompanist for soloists and The National Children's Choir of Great Britain takes her to venues including The Bridgewater Hall, St George's Hall, Liverpool and St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. Adjudication and piano teaching at Manchester High School for Girls and The Manchester Grammar School complete a busy musical schedule.

Music for a Summer Afternoon, 2pm at St Bartholomew's Church, Wilmslow.
