Alderley Edge May Fair

Saturday, 21st May, 2016 10:00am til 4:00pm

Commencing at 11am with the Parade (meet at 10.30am on Chorley Hall Playing Fields).
Parade through the village led by The White Horse and Wizard of Alderley.

The parade will include the Chester Giants, British Legion veterans, Fancy Dress entrants (this year no theme, anything goes), dancers, bands, entertainers, military vehicles, vintage cars and bikes, the May Queen and attendants, plus lots more.

There will be entertainment in the village leading up to the parade and Alderley History Group will be displaying old photographs of Alderley Edge on the London Road railings above The Parade.

This year the theme for the Fancy Dress will be open to your imagination - so Disney characters, celebrities, pirates, animals, soldiers, local heroes or villains can come down to Chorley Hall Lane Fields by 10.30am to join in the Parade (starts at 11am), then on to judging in the main Arena around midday.

Fun Dog Show.

You can register your dog from 2pm and judging will commence at 2.30pm. The Best in Show judging will then be in the Wizard's Arena at 4pm.

The classes are as follows : cutest puppy, best rescue, best veteran, waggiest tail, prettiest bitch, most appealing eyes, most handsome dog and judges choice to take home.

Doggie Olympic Games

Alderley Edge's first Doggie Olympics which will be a fun event for dogs of all sizes, shapes, speed and age. Also lots of fun for all dog owners and spectators who will be encouraged to participate alongside their best pal.

Races will include the sack race, bean bag race, obstacle races, agility and take place within the tennis courts.

Entertainment in the Wizards Arena and on the Golden Triangle Stage.

From dancing horses to marching bands, circus acts to dance troupes, there will be entertainment throughout the afternoon, beginning at midday.

Music and Dancing from local schools and organisations followed by an afternoon open mic event organised by the Yard.

Licensed bars serving quality wines, beers and Prosecco.

Aldeli on Wilmslow Road will be offering free parking on their land for this weekend's May Fair events.
