Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Mornings

A number of local organisations and businesses will be making time for what matters in life and hosting a coffee morning on Friday 26th September to help raise money for Macmillan.

Amongst those taking in Alderley Edge are:

  • Alderley Edge Hockey Club who are inviting people to drop by for coffee, cake and to help raise funds from 10:30 am at The Edge Hockey Centre on Wilmslow Road.
  • A Big Coffee Morning is also being held at Alderley Edge Scout Hut, on Talbot Road, from 11am to 2pm and at the Royal Bank of Scotland where the branch staff will be serving coffee and cakes from 10am to 2pm.
  • Meanwhile The Yard will be going green for a their Macmillan coffee morning, lunch and afternoon tea - serving raw platters, leafy salads and wraps, spirulina cupcakes, green smoothie specials, matcha lattes and fresh organic wheatgrass.

Amongst those taking in Wilmslow are:

  • James Maguire & Co have signed up to host a Macmillan coffee morning at their offices in Blackbox from 11am.
  • Weightwatchers will be hosting a healthy coffee morning at St Benedict's Church, Handforth from 9am where you can enjoy a slice of cake and then work it off in a free exercise session.
  • The Stanneylands Hotel are supporting the charity by inviting people to join them for coffee in their Calico Bar from 10am. They will also be featuring a Great Stanneylands Bake Off - bring in your greatest cake creations to be judged by their cohort of cake experts for a chance at winning afternoon tea for two, £5 per entry to go to Macmillan and judging takes place at 11am.
  • The Rifleman's pub on Moor Lane will host a coffee morning from 10.30am to midday
  • Handforth Youth Centre is inviting people to join them from 1pm to 3pm.
  • There will also be a Macmillan Coffee Afternoon at Morley Green Club, Mobberley Road on Sunday 28th September from 2pm until 4.30pm where tea, coffee, cakes and scones will be available.
  • Turner's Nursery on Knutsford Road is inviting people to join them from 10am to 2pm.
  • Multiyork will be holding their Macmillan Coffee Morning instore from 10am to 12noon.
  • Exceptional Solutions will be providing tea, coffee and sweet treats in return for donations to Macmillan in the Rex Building from 9.30 to 11am. There will also be a 'Beat It' wall where people can add the name of someone special affected by cancer.

All the money raised will be used to help fund the charity's vital services from specialist nurses and doctors, to grants and advice for people who have money problems because of their illness. Macclesfield Hospital is home to one of Macmillan's fantastic Resource centre which supports people going through treatment, and is only up the road from Wilmslow.
