5   Major Improvement Necessary (Apparently)

I'm a big fan of Yara and eat there every week. However, I've recently noted that they scored a big fat ONE (=major improvement necessary) in the Food Standards Agency rating. I dare say I find this ever so slightly alarming... what to believe?

Every time I go it's buzzing, the staff is really friendly, the service is speedy and the food always seems fresh and very tasty (tons of vegetarian options also). To find out that it's rated so low in terms of food hygiene is a real kick in the teeth.

5   Fresh, fresh, fresh!!

Went a couple of weeks ago on an early Friday evening and have to say that everything was excellent. I love Lebanese/Syrian food and rank this place alongside Alladin in Withington and Petra on Upper Brook street in Manchester. The tabouleh and Fattoush were both zingingly fresh, all the starters were top quality and the mixed kebab taht we shared was perfectlty cooked and flavoured beautifuly. Charming staff and an excellent BYO policy helped to make it a very jolly occasion...the place was buzzing... will be back soon for sure.

5   Great addition to the village restaurants

Have eaten here several times since it opened. Good atmosphere, great food, and helpful staff. Menu is extensive and the food always tastes good. Relatively inexpensive and the BYO alcohol is a real plus and gives it an edge over other similar village restaurants. Keep up the good work... I'll be back soon.

5   Great atmosphere

Second visit and surprisingly, just as good as the first, very good atmosphere, lots of local people to chat with, would recommend it.

5   Great Night Out

We called into Yara on the off chance last Sunday evening. The food was superb as was the attention to detail on the service. We shall be returning regularly.

4   Very nice addition

Had a really nice meal here last week. The food is very delicate and well prepared. I had Haloumi to start with and mixed Kebab to finish and both were excellent. Very big menu but not to vast to scare you off. Nice brightly lit interior which is a rarity in the village. The prices were also quite reasonable. It's a good start from taking over from Stay.

3   Disappointing

Must have got them on a bad night. Both service & food was indifferent when we visited early on Friday evening. Only 2 of us but managed to get the order wrong and not inexpensive despite BYO.

4   A pleasing evening

Last minute booking on Val.'s evening... made welcome... food was pretty good... service was very good... cost wasn't too bad... a pleasing evening... mayhaps they might turn up the thermostat a shade?

5   A welcome innovation

We have now visted Yara Restaurant twice and on both occasions the food has been excellent. However, two other benefits have been the very friendly service and the 'Bring Your Own' (BYO) facility at just £1 corkage. We all know that the restauarant mark up on drinks - alcoholicand non alcoholic - is exceptuionally high so this is a welcome innovation among village restaurants.

The menu is extensive with typical middle east dishes, lots of lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices. I also noticed a number of customers were taking advantage of theit take away facility. We will certainly continue to return to Yara.

5   Great food, great service

We went for the first visit to Yara on New Year's Eve, the food and service were fantastic. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were attentive. BYO wine and £1 corkage (which must be unique in the village) was an added bonus! Highly recommended and I'll be going back soon.
